ProjectBRIEF
Project BRIEF (Bringing Real Information on Energy Forward) is a comprehensive and quantitative research project that seeks to illuminate the real facts behind one of the most misunderstood industries in the nation. A project of America’s independent oil and natural gas producers, Project BRIEF is carried out by some of the nation’s most respected and trusted analysts in the field, drawing on local knowledge and primary sources of information. Researchers compiled their findings into three reports, each focusing on a different aspect of the energy industry:
- The first report focuses on capturing the history and progress of states in overseeing and regulating the safe and responsible development of local energy resources.
- The second analysis considers what role the federal government can play in advancing key strategic imperatives of energy security and affordability, analyzing whether federal environmental laws and regulations written more than a generation ago should be stretched to their limits for the purpose of targeting today’s oil and gas producers.
- The third report highlights how new regulations imposed by the federal government may impact our ability to create good-paying jobs, retain them and support the services provided by state and local governments.
Too often, sound bites and misinformation are accepted as truth on their face and without delving deeper into the facts. Now, with the research put forth by Project BRIEF, the public can finally see the reality behind the rhetoric.
