Profile in Leadership: Vestal Coalition
A while back, I spoke about a great educational meeting sponsored by the Vestal Coalition. If you haven’t seen it, check it out; Packing the House in Vestal. This week, I would like to talk about the coalition itself. Like many of the gas coalitions in New York and Pennsylvania, this one was formed to organize, educate and help lead both small and large land owners.
Here are some excerpts from the Vestal Coalition website:
The Vestal Coalition continues to stress the importance of gas industry related education to our members. We have provided many opportunities for our members to attend presentations on many topics related to the potential legal and financial obligations and opportunities that will come as a result of any future natural oil and gas lease.
During the past year we have offered informational meetings about geological value information, wealth and estate management, the pros and cons of forming Limited Liability Corporations (LLC’s), and horizontal drilling technologies….
We have striven to pass on a wide variety of scientific, technical and political information related to gas drilling and will continue to develop plans for future presentations.
The coalition includes 630 members representing approximately 10,550 acres or roughly 1/3 of the total acreage of the Town of Vestal.
