On Friday night Tri-Valley High School held their first home game of the football season.  While this is always a large event for every high school, Halliburton helped make the event even more special.  Thanks to Halliburton and Tri-Valley’s 12^th man club, the football team is now home to the Halliburton Athletic Facility and brand new bleachers for the fans to root for their home team, the Scotties.

The project that has been in place for only a few months, exceeded everyone’s expectations by being ready for the first home game of the year.  The bleachers, which now hold 600 more fans, is a testament to Tri-Valley’s and Drake Prouty’s, 12th Man Club facilities director, dedication to the project.  The bleachers were built in only 84 days and will leave the opposing fans in awe as they see some of the nicest seating arrangements for any high school football team in eastern Ohio. The Athletic facility was built in 123 days thanks to cooperation from the school district, local contractors, and Halliburton.

Earlier this year, Halliburton announced they planned to move back to Ohio to provide services for operators developing the Utica Shale.  In wanting to be a good corporate neighbor, Halliburton asked local leaders how  they could help the local community.  With their facility being built right outside of Zanesville in the Tri-Valley School District, they looked to Tri-Valley as a possible beneficiary to their philanthropic nature.

Through a series of meetings with the school and local officials, Halliburton donated nearly $800,000 to the local school district for renovations to their rich history of high school football.  This 10 year agreement was put into place thanks to cooperation with Muskingum County Commissioners, Zanesville Muskingum County Port Authority, Washington Township,  Century National Bank, the Tri-Valley Board of Education and Tri-Valley’s 12^th man club, which raises money and helps make sure the football team has everything it needs to be a winning team.

In attendance for the dedication were Halliburton employees, local officials, State Senator Troy Balderson, Congressman Bill Johnson and the local contractors who stepped up and made sure this project was done in record time.  Ron Shuman, Halliburton’s Senior Vice President of the Southern Region, was quite impressed with teamwork and cooperation of the project.

Halliburton does not do this all of the time, but when we do do it we want to do it with good partners.  When we move into a community and say we are going to be here for 50 years, we put a lot of thoughts of building a sustainable partnership with lots of good individuals. Just prior to kickoff, Mr. Prouty presented Mr. Shuman with a plaque thanking him and Halliburton for investing in their school district. The crowd cheered as they are seeing firsthand the great partnership that can develop thanks to Utica Shale development.

State Senator Troy Balderson definitely sees this investment to be very positive for Tri-Valley and the city of Dresden and the importance of Halliburton giving back to the community.

We are here on this grand evening with the grand opening ceremonies for the Tri-Valley Halliburton facility.  Halliburton has dedicated a building to this community and it’s an important asset to this community Dresden, Ohio, Tri-Valley 12^th Man Program organization.  It’s important they give back to the community.  So along with bringing 300 plus jobs they are already being invested in the community and it is a wonderful thing.- State Senator Troy Balderson

Thanks to Halliburton’s involvement in the community, the town of Dresden and Tri-Valley has something they can be proud of for years to come.  As with any small town, football isn’t just about the game;  it’s about the community and Halliburton made Dresden just a little better community from their investment in not only the stadium but their facility right down road which will employ over 300 Ohioans.
