In 2019, the Alaskan oil and gas industry contributed $3.1 billion to state and local government. This included $218 million in corporate income tax, $587 million in production taxes, $567 million in state and local property taxes, and $1.1 billion to the state general fund. In addition to support the state’s finances, petroleum production is a key revenue source for Alaskan Native Corporations.
